Kip McGrath in Alice Springs has been in operation since 2001 in the O’Grady family, providing high-quality tuition services to up to 130 primary and secondary students in the Red Centre for more than 25 years.

Our tutors are all qualified teachers and use the Kip McGrath proven methods and techniques to ensure your child improves their literacy and numeracy skills and gain confidence in a supportive and friendly environment. Each 60-minute session offers one-on-one attention, combining written and computer-based activities to make learning engaging and effective. This year, the Kip McGrath Education Centre celebrates 50 years of operation in Australia and have also expanded their services to include the UK, New Zealand and South Africa.

Our new owner, Jennifer Lopes, is a Territorian and has been based in Alice Springs since 2019. She has over 25 years of teaching literacy and numeracy across primary, secondary and specialist disability settings. Prior to taking over the Kip McGrath Centre in Alice Springs, Jennifer worked for 3 years for the NT Department of Education, mentoring teachers in urban and remote schools in teaching English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D), as well as teaching at Centralian Senior College, Acacia Hill Special School and Amoonguna School. She has a Master of Education (TESOL), a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Batchelor of Arts, and a Graduate Certificate in Accelerated Literacy. She has certificates in Personalised Learning, Special Needs and Read Write Inc.

Our carefully-planned tutoring enables our students to make strong progress and enjoy academic success, which helps to build our students’ confidence, self-esteem and study skills.
