Kip McGrath Education Centre Portsmouth Re-launched

A great event was enjoyed by all who attended the re-launch of the Kip McGrath Education Centre in Portsmouth on 22nd October, with everything going to plan. The Lord Mayor, Cllr Paula Riches, unveiled a wonderful plaque to commemorate the event which is now proudly displayed in the centre.  She looked fantastic in her shocking pink outfit. “Howard and Linda have such passion for helping children, and it is obvious from speaking to people how much their children have benefited from that help.” She told the children “Remember, if you work hard you can become like me!”

Linvoy Primus from Portsmouth Football Club handed out certificates to the children attending, and signed all the footballs and photos that people wanted.  The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, with lots of people making new friends and finding out more about their children’s tuition.  ‘Faith in Football love helping children to read with their ‘Extra Time’ volunteer reading programme.  It is great that we can work together with Kip McGrath Education Centres to do this’ said Linvoy.

Martyn James of 7events entertained the attendees with some great tunes;  two of his sons attend the centre in Portsmouth.  “It was great to meet Linvoy again, what a wholesome guy he is, and a great example to everyone.  Both of my sons have gained so much from coming to Kip McGrath.  The teachers have such a great rapport with them, and they have really improved and gained in confidence so much.”

Libbie Brooks handed the Lord Major a bouquet of flowers to thank her for attending.  Melanie Brooks, mother of Libbie said “She was thrilled to meet the Lord Major, she loved finding out about her badges of office.  She loves coming to Kip McGrath too and has never once complained.  She has improved so much the school are really happy with her and she no longer has an IEP (individual educational plan)”.

Howard Jones, Centre Director at the Kip McGrath Education Centre said “Linda and I really feel we have the best job in the world, we get the reward of being able to see all these children improve and grow in confidence as they learn.  It really is a privilege”
